Since the students took the Benchmark Math Assessments thus week, we did not have regular math lessons. We did, however, continue with our Rowley Math practice and the students are moving right along! We reviewed addition and subtraction and watched a couple of videos on Brainpop Jr.
On Thursday we had Buddy Time! Our sixth grade buddies shared their books about the Creation Story with us. Some of the second graders shared our writing about Fall Festival with them.
For Language Arts, students read a play called, "Neighborhood News." throughout the week we had many opportunities to practice reading it to develop more fluency. Then today students worked in two groups and assumed the roles of the news anchors, producer, weather person and others. They performed in front of each other and did really well! Be sure to ask your child why his or her shoes are awfully shiny!
Having to work around the set up for the Fall Festival was a bit of a challenge, but with everyone's cooperation, we made it through the week! I hope to see you at the Fall Festival!
