In grammar, students learned how to identify the subject and predicate of sentences. We also focused on picking out the details and main idea of paragraphs while reading this week's informational text called, "Dogs".
In math we are learning about subtraction and the various strategies in solving subtraction problems, such as counting back. In science we learned about how scientists think. We discussed what a hypothesis is and the process of testing ideas, making observations and drawing conclusions.
Before working on handwriting the students begin each lesson with hand exercises that are meant to help them develop more stength in their hand muscles. Ask your child to show you what kissing fish, piano hands, clapping fingers and the wave look like! I can already see some great improvememts in their legibility!
